On Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12, take mum to Groovin’ in the Grove at Watercress Creek Olives and Limes.  The event will feature a live musician and picnics in the grove from 3pm till 7pm.  There will also be food vans on site and picnic hampers you can pre-book.

Book in a lux picnic at The Soul Nook Collective the day before Mother’s Day (Saturday May 11) and celebrate the special ladies in your life.

Enjoy a semi chill’d picnic for $40pp with a small posie of flowers, a grazing box, cafe drinks and live music under shady trees.

Picnics will run from 9am to 2pm.

Bakehouse Steakhouse are offering a special two ($55) or three ($65) course menu for Mother’s Day.  Entrees include crispy fried lemon pepper squid, lemon and chilli sautéed bugs, herbed potato croquette or bruschetta.  For mains you can choose from dry-aged eye fillet, slow cooked beef cheek, triple mushroom and asparagus risotto, chicken roulade or crispy skin Humpty Doo barramundi.  Dessert options are Nutella chocolate brownie, walnut and white chocolate carrot cake or Bakehouse pastry.

Take mum to the theatre 

Gift mum theatre tickets to Ipswich Little Theatre’s next show Stepping Out.  

The show runs from 15 May to 1 June, with public nightly performances at 8pm on May 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and June 1 and Sunday Matinees at 2pm on 19 and 26 May.

Friday, May 17 sees the return of the very popular complimentary wine and cheese evening. Patrons are invited to join in the fun of the play by dressing up in 80’s fashion on each of the Friday nights May 17, 24, 31, if they choose.

Mariachis, cocktails and surprises at La Parrilla

Head into La Parrilla for a Mother’s Day event full of fun.  On Sunday May 12 there will be mariachis playing, cocktails being shaken and some surprises for all the mums!

Listen to the band from 12pm to 4pm, there will also be a special menu on the day.  Bookings are essential!

La Parrilla will be open from 11am to 8pm on Sunday May 12.

Celebrate mother’s with a special Mother’s Day buffet breakfast at the Mihi Tavern, there are two sittings available 7am-8.30am and 9am-10.30am.  And every mother who dines at the Mihi Tavern over the weekend of May 11 and 12 will receive an entry into a spa package giveaway.*

Breakfast costs $42 for adults and $15 for children (6 – 12 Years), kids under 5 eat free.

There are baby goats at the farm to pet and the two hour sessions are available on Saturday and Sunday May 11 and 12.

Tuck into a hot buffet breakfast from 8am – 10.30am on Mother’s Day at Brothers.

Breakfast includes seasonal fruit, tea and coffee and a complimentary glass of bubbles for mum.  Members price is $35, kids under 12 are $15 (pre-paid booking are essential for breakfast).

For lunch and dinner book to dine on a special menu of pan roasted Atlantic salmon with potato dauphinoise, asparagus, salsa verde or a flame grilled T-bone w mash, greens and mushroom sauce $35 for members). The regular menu will also be available, it is recommended to book early to avoid disappointment.

Nicky Steele will perform from 12noon to 4pm and Jarrod Murphy will be performing from 5pm-8.30pm and there will be lucky door prizes.

The Handmade Expo Mega Mother’s Day Market

Don’t miss the chance to shop up a storm with mum, or by yourself for a gift on Saturday May 11 at The Handmade Expo’s Mega Mother’s Day Market.

There will be more than 110 stalls, selling handmade items including woodwork, candles, clothing and local produce.

There will also be live music, food trucks and face painting on the day.

Special Mother’s Day buffet breakfast at CSI

On Mother’s Day Club Services Ipswich is holding a buffet breakfast from 6.30am-9.30am and every mum receives a gift.

There will also be all day dining from 11.30am to 8.30pm, with Mother’s Day specials including king snapper and scallops ($34.90), veal scaloppini ($29.90), slow cooked lamb shank ($26.90), chicken mignon ($26.90) and more.

Entertainment will start at 11.30am and go until 2.30pm then resume at 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

Mother’s Day high tea

The Rusty Nail is holding a special Mother’s Day cocktail making class at 2pm on Sunday 12 May.  The class starts at 2pm and includes getting behind the bar to get hands on and shake things up.  Cost is $60pp, with charcuterie boards available to purchase on the day or when you book.

After at 5pm a Mother’s Day wine and cheese tasting will be held.  This 45-minute guided wine tasting includes four wines paired with four cheese for $65pp.
