If you love discovering new places to visit or getting a behind the scenes look at places, then guided tours might be for you.  Here’s a few of the best on offer in Ipswich!

Take a guided night walk

IMG_3436

You can take in the beauty of nature at night in these guided walks through the White Rock – Spring Mountain Conservation Estate at dusk when the estate is usually closed.

Your guide will expertly help you reach the lookout where you can see the twinkling lights of Brisbane City, before leading the descent back to the starting point.

Learn about the history of the estate and look for nocturnal animals along the forest floor or among the trees.

Other tours at night include Nocturnal Nature Detectives for kids, a moonlight walk to the Goolman lookout and Nature at Night for kids.

And the best part is they are only $5 per person to book!

Learn about our haunted history

Ipswich Cemetery Ghost Tour

Learn about Ipswich’s haunted history on a ghost tour of sites around Ipswich, including the Ipswich CBD, Ipswich Cemetery and Goodna Cemetery.

Find out about some of the oldest graves and the stories behind them from tour guides who bring a theatrical flare.

Hear classic local ghost stories, urban legends and myths, true tales of tragedy, crime, murder, magic, witchcraft, love and death all researched by Brisbane dark historian Jack Sim.

Your guides also put money from ticket sales into restoring heritage grave sites.

See Ipswich from a whole new angle

Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights

On this tour your guide is hot air balloon pilot Graeme Day, who will lead you to discover Ipswich by air in a Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights flight.

See the city from above and see the Brisbane skyline as the sun starts to rise over the sleepy countryside.  Your guide will show you points of interest along the way including surrounding mountain ranges and other natural landscapes.

After your flight enjoy a delicious breakfast at Fourthchild Cafe.

Walk a llama

The Llama Farm guided walk

The Llama Farm has a unique tour option that allows you to take their beautiful llamas for an afternoon stroll.

Learn about llamas and their personalities as you take one for a walk down to the river and back as the sun starts to set.

The farm also offers farm tours, but the llama walk is something you’ll never forget.

Peek behind the scenes at the Ipswich Nature Centre

Meet local zookeepers and learn first hand what happens in a keeper’s day at the Ipswich Nature Centre.  Discover what goes into caring for local wildlife, meet lovable barnyard animals, and get to know all the local residents of the Ipswich Nature Centre by name.

Animal Encounters tours are available for groups of eight or more, or can be booked on specific days.

Visit a working olive and lime farm

Watercress Creek Olives and Limes

Learn about olives and limes on a working farm with 1000 olive trees and 800 lime trees.  Discover trees on the Watercress Creek Olives and Limes farm as old as 350 years and find out the history of the property which has been in the one family for three generations on a farm tour.

Book in for a picnic in the grove to taste the locally grown produce, then browse the farm shop to take home a few goodies!
