Discover the secret life of the forest at night on a Nocturnal Nature Detective tour.

The forest at night is a mysterious place! Join us as we venture out into the wild after dark to discover the secrets of nature at night. Use your super sleuth senses to discover clues about wildlife, plants and friends of the forest – every clue you find helps you figure out a nature secret or story. You’ll take home amazing nature stories to tell your family and friends! This easy nature discovery walk led by Ranger Jody is suitable for children aged 4 to 10 years old.

Places strictly limited, book early to avoid disappointment. Bookings required for all spots, all children must be accompanied by a responsible guardian. Headlamps provided – you are welcome to bring your own.

Where: Wanderer Crescent, Springfield Lakes
(opposite house number 33 on forest side at entry gate)
When: Friday 19 April
Time: 5:15pm for a 5.30 pm departure. Return approx. 7 pm
Price: $5 per person or $10 per family (2A,2C)* or (1A,3C)*

Important information:
Is this activity suitable for me?

• Content suitable for children aged 4 to 10 years old.  Older siblings welcome
• This walk is expected to take around 1.5 hours
• Please bring water and snacks
• The walk is an unsealed bush track of moderate difficulty and may include rocky, loose and sloping surfaces
• The return walk will be after dark (headlamps provided)
• This walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and good balance
• Wildlife including snakes may be encountered on this walk
• Upon arrival, please be mindful of local residents including parking appropriately and noise levels when arriving and departing

Please note that at the present time, the trail is not suitable for non-walkers.  Walking aids, prams and wheelchairs are unsuitable on this trail.  Look out for future planned trails around the City that will be wheelchair friendly and made available soon.

Please note that this event may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Participants will be advised by 2pm on the day if cancellation is necessary due to safety concerns.
