If you’re looking for a road trip where you can bring your best mate, then look no further than Ipswich!

Spicers Hidden Vale - Pooch

Book in for a pet friendly stay at the luxurious Spicers Hidden Vale.

The Chinese Cottage is pup-friendly and the pooch package includes daily a la carte breakfast, complimentary WiFi, a plush dog bed, water bowl, food bowl, lead, doggie bags, blanket and a long lasting bone.

Dogs that weigh up to 25kg are welcome to stay as long as they don’t curl up on the furniture and use the outside toilet.

Once you’ve settled in you can explore the Spicers estate which includes an infinity pool and award-winning restaurant with views for days.

You can also book in experiences including a cocktail masterclass, a koala safari, scenic helicopter flights, wine and cheese tasting, luxury picnics and guided nature walks on the sprawling 12,000 acre property.

Barkley and Pips

The next day if you’re keen to check out more dog-friendly experiences head towards Ipswich Central and stop at Barkley & Pips.

This pup-friendly cafe, includes a doggy play area with ball pit, grooming services, and alfresco area so fido can enjoy a treat while you have brunch.

Inside is also all manner of dog accessories, chew toys, doggy ice cream and more.

Imbibis Craft Distillery is dog friendly

After your pooch has been pampered head to Imbibis Craft Distillery (open Fridays and by appointment) to taste the gin, rum and liqueurs at Ipswich’s only distillery. Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside, water bowls and treats are available.

Stop for lunch and a brew at Stony Creek Brewery. Pups are welcome on leash in the laneway of the 100-year-old former technical college. Taste the beers they brew onsite here as you soak up the heritage.

Ipswich pet-friendly accommodation Ruth's Cottage

It might be time for your four-legged friend to have a run around, so we suggest visiting one of the many off-leash dog parks in Ipswich, the David W Coultas Park near Brothers Leagues Club has separate areas for large and small dogs. Or visit Queens Park and Denmark Hill where you can bring pups on leashes.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the heart of Ipswich book in with Ruth’s Cottage. This lovely Airbnb is dog friendly with two bedrooms and a fenced backyard.

Rafter and Rose

For breakfast we suggest bringing your doggo to Rafter & Rose. Try the fresh pastries, epic waffles or bacon and egg burger. Pups are welcome in the leafy corridor outside or the table at the front, and water bowls and treats are available.

Don’t miss the chance to take a morning walk at Robelle Domain with your pooch to round out your visit. The parklands consist of boardwalks and footpaths among the gum trees.
