If you’re staying at home or visiting the Ipswich area this Christmas you might be looking for something to do between the Christmas and New Years holidays…

In this list we’ve done the leg work and rounded up a bunch of businesses, including animal farms, museums and tours that will be open during the period.

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm

Families will love spending the morning at the Ewe Nique Hobby Farm where you can pet and feed the animals.  Parents can relax with a cuppa from the cafe or a tasty treat.

The farm will be open all holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

 

Brookwater Golf and Country Club

Brookwater Golf

Brookwater Golf and Country Club will be open the entire holiday period for golf except for Christmas Day.

 

Hardcore Blasters

Hardcore Blasters, Ipswich

If your teenager or young adult is looking for something similar to paintball, the Hardcore Blasters action centre will be open all holidays.

They are closing Christmas Eve and Christmas Day however.

Ipswich Nature Centre

You can visit the Ipswich Nature Centre all holidays, the only day they’re closing is Christmas Day.

Seraphim Escape Rooms

Seraphim Escape

Seraphim Escape Rooms will be open until 6pm on Christmas Eve and then closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Monday December 27 and Tuesday December 28.

They will be open for bookings as normal on Wednesday December 29 and Thursday December 30, but closing at 6pm on New Year’s Eve.  They will close on New Years’ Day, reopening Sunday January 2, then closing on Monday January 3.

Summer Land Camel Farms

The Summer Land Camels farm will close for three days from Christmas Day until Monday December 27, reopening on Tuesday December 28.

They will also close on New Year’s Day.

The remaining days they will be open for farm tours, camel rides and camel feeding.

The Workshops Rail Museum

The Workshops Rail Museum will close on Christmas and Boxing Day and then be open for the rest of the holidays.  They are also launching Day out With Thomas on Tuesday January 27!

Watercress Creek Olive and Limes

Olive and lime products from Watercress Creek Olives and Limes

You can visit the farmgate or book in for a fresh picnic in the olive grove on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.  The Watercress Creek Olives and Limes farm will close Christmas Day and Monday December 27, and re-open on Tuesday and Wednesday December 28 and 29.

They will close Thursday December 20 and New Year’s Day also.

Willowbank MX

If you or your family members love riding you’ll be happy to know that the Willowbank MX park will be open until 12pm on Christmas Eve.  They will close Christmas and Boxing Day then re-open for normal hours until New Year’s Eve.  That day they will take bookings only and they will close New Years’ Day, opening for bookings on Sunday January 2 and Monday January 3.  

Limelight Cinemas

Limelight Cinema Ipswich

Limelight Cinemas will be open during the entire holiday period except for Christmas Day!  Get in to see some amazing new releases like Sing 2, Ghost Busters Afterlife, Spiderman: No Way Home and more!

Ipswich Massage and Herbal Spa

Ipswich Massage and Herbal Spa

You will be able to book in for a massage, treatment or beauty service at Ipswich Massage and Herbal Spa on Christmas Eve and again on Wednesday December 29, Thursday December 30 and Friday December 31.   The team will take a short four day break from Christmas Day until January 28 and three days from New Year’s Day until January 3.  They will open for normal trade on January 4.

You can book into a balloon flight with Floating Images all through the holidays, except for Christmas Day!

Ipswich Antique Centre

Ipswich Antique Centre

You’ll be able to visit the Ipswich Antique Centre on Christmas Eve before they take a five day break over Christmas.

They will re-open on Thursday December 30 and Friday December 31, before closing on New Years’ Day.

Riverlink Shopping Centre

Riverlink Gasometer, East Mall.

Riverlink Shopping Centre will be open every day over the holidays with reduced hours, except for Christmas Day.  

Julesart Studio

Julesart Studio

You can browse the art or do art classes all through the holiday period at Julesart, she’s only closing on Christmas Day.  You will have to book to visit the gallery and for classes though.

Obesession Shoes

Obsession Shoes Boutique will be open 9am-1pm on Christmas Eve, Thursday December 30, Friday December 31 and Monday January 3.

Trevallan Lifestyle Centre

Trevallan Lifestyle Centre

You’ll be able to visit Trevallan Lifestyle Centre on Christmas Eve and then they will close Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Monday December 27.  The shop will then be open as usual until Monday January 3 when they will shut for the day.

Trottie Becke

Trottie Beck | Ipswich

Fashion, gift and homeware boutique Trottie Becke will be open Christmas Eve until 4pm, then will close for four days.  They will re-open Wednesday December 29, Thursday December 30 and Friday December 31 from 10am-3pm, then they will close on New Years’ Day and January 2, re-opening on January 3.

Ulli’s New Age Rockz

Ulli's New Age Rockz, Ipswich

Ulli’s New Age Rockz will be open for bookings on Christmas Eve.  Then they will have a break until Wednesday December 29 and Thursday December 30 when they will open from 10am-2pm and Friday December 31 from 10am to 1.30pm.

Pterodactyl Helicopters

Pterodactyl Helicopters

Bookings are being taken for Pterodactyl helicopter tours and joy rides all through the holiday period except for Christmas Day.

Quest Ipswich

Quest Ipswich is open all through the holidays for a sneaky getaway or somewhere for your friends and family to stay!

While these are the businesses open in the period between Christmas and New Years’ holidays, there are more that will be open from January 4 onwards, including the Ipswich Art Gallery, which has Built for Speed running until January 30.
