Looking for something to do on the holidays? We've rounded up the best attractions that will be open between Christmas and New Years.

If you’re staying at home or visiting the Ipswich area this Christmas you might be looking for something to do between the Christmas and New Years holidays…

In this list we’ve done the leg work and rounded up a bunch of businesses, including animal farms, museums and tours that will be open during the period.

Orion Lagoon

Orion Lagoon

The Orion Lagoon will be open all holidays for your splashing enjoyment!  So will Robelle Domain Parklands and all the Ipswich council water parks see the list here.

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm

Families will love spending the morning at the Ewe Nique Hobby Farm where you can pet and feed the animals.  Parents can relax with a cuppa from the cafe or a tasty treat.

The farm will be open all holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Brookwater Golf and Country Club

Brookwater Golf

Brookwater Golf and Country Club will be open the entire holiday period for golf except for Christmas Day.

Hardcore Blasters

If your teenager or young adult is looking for something similar to paintball, the Hardcore Blasters action centre will be open until Christmas Eve and selected days in the period between Christmas and New Years.

They’ll close Christmas Day and re-open for Friday December 29 and 30, and then close again January 31- January 3, reopening on January 4.

Ipswich Nature Centre

You can visit the Ipswich Nature Centre all holidays, the only day they’re closing is Christmas Day.

Seraphim Escape Rooms

Seraphim Escape

Seraphim Escape Rooms will be closed for the holidays at 5pm on Christmas Eve and then reopen on Wednesday December 28.

They will also close on New Years’ Eve, reopening on Wednesday January 4.

Summer Land Camel Farms

The Summer Land Camels farm will close for three days from Christmas Day until Tuesday December 27, reopening on Wednesday December 28.

They will also close on New Year’s Day.

The remaining days they will be open for farm tours, camel rides and camel feeding.

The Workshops Rail Museum

The Workshops Rail Museum will close on Christmas and Boxing Day and then be open for the rest of the holidays.  They are also launching Day out With Thomas from December 27 – January 23!

Willowbank MX

If you or your family members love riding you’ll be happy to know that the Willowbank MX park will be open until 12pm on Christmas Eve.  They will close Christmas and Boxing Day then re-open for normal hours until New Year’s Eve.  That day they will shut at 12pm and also be closed New Years’ Day. 

Limelight Cinemas

Limelight Cinemas will be open during the entire holiday period except for Christmas Day!  Get in to see some amazing new releases like Avatar 2.

Ipswich Massage and Herbal Spa

Ipswich Massage and Herbal Spa

You will be able to book in for a massage, treatment or beauty service at Ipswich Massage and Herbal Spa on Christmas Eve until 3pm.  Then the team will take a break from Christmas Day until December 27 reopening on Wednesday December 28.   The team will also take a short two-day break from New Year’s Day and reopen on Tuesday January 3.

Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights

Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights

You can book into a balloon flight with Floating Images all through the holidays, except for Christmas Day and Monday January 2!

Ipswich Antique Centre

Ipswich Antique Centre

You’ll be able to visit the Ipswich Antique Centre on Christmas Eve before they take a four day break over Christmas.

They will re-open on Thursday December 29, Friday December 30 and Saturday December 31, before closing on New Years’ Day for a break and opening again January 5.

Riverlink Shopping Centre

Riverlink Shopping Centre will be open every day over the holidays, except for Christmas Day.  Check their site for hours as they may be reduced.

While these are the businesses open in the period between Christmas and New Years’ holidays, there are more that will be open from January 3 onwards, including the Ipswich Art Gallery, which has Wind Tubes running for the school holidays.
