If you’re staying at home or visiting the Ipswich area this Christmas you might be looking for something to do between the Christmas and New Years holidays…

In this list we’ve done the leg work and rounded up a bunch of businesses, including animal farms, museums and tours that will be open during the period.

Orion Lagoon

Orion Lagoon

The Orion Lagoon will be open all holidays for your splashing enjoyment!  So will Robelle Domain Parklands and all the Ipswich council water parks see the list here.

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm

Families will love spending the morning at the Ewe Nique Hobby Farm where you can pet and feed the animals.  Parents can relax with a cuppa from the cafe or a tasty treat.

The farm will be open all holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Ipswich Nature Centre

You can visit the Ipswich Nature Centre all holidays, the only day they’re closing is Christmas Day.  Head in Monday to Sunday from 9.30am to 4pm.

Seraphim Escape Rooms

Seraphim Escape

Seraphim Escape Rooms will be closing Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day but staying open the rest of the holiday period.  It’s a great time to get the family together to solve some puzzles!

Summer Land Camel Farms

The Summer Land Camels farm will close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Every other day they will be open form 9am-3pm for farm tours, camel rides and camel feeding.

The Workshops Rail Museum

The Workshops Rail Museum will close on Christmas and Boxing Day and then be open for the rest of the holidays.  They are also launching Day out With Thomas from 27 December – 26 January 23 – with new opening hours during the program 8.30am – 3pm.

Limelight Cinemas

Limelight Cinemas will be open with airconditioned comfort during the entire holiday period except for Christmas Day!  Get in to see some amazing new releases!

Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights

Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights

You can book into a balloon flight with Floating Images all through the holidays, except for Christmas Day.

Ipswich Antique Centre

Ipswich Antique Centre

You’ll be able to visit the Ipswich Antique Centre on Saturday December 23 before they take a four day break.

They will open on Thursday December 28 to Sunday December 31, before closing on New Years’ Day.

Dark Magician Games

Dark Magician Games

Dark Magician Games will be closing Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day but will open again on Wednesday 27 December until Saturday 30 December.  They will then close on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Arttime Gallery and Fine Art Supplies

Art Time Gallery and Fine Art Supplies will be closing Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day but will open again on Wednesday 27 December until Saturday 30 December.  They will then close on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Ulli’s New Age Rockz

Ulli’s New Age Rockz will be open except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Naughty Little Kids

You can cuddle and feed the cute baby goats at Naughty Little Kids most of the holidays.  They’ll only be closing Christmas Day, Thursday and Friday 28 and 29 December and New Year’s Day.

Hidden Vale Adventure Park

Hidden Vale Adventure Park will be open all through the holidays, only closing on Christmas Day.

While these are the businesses open in the period between Christmas and New Years’ holidays, there are more that will be open from January 3 onwards, including the Ipswich Art Gallery, which has Wind Tubes running for the school holidays.

Rocky the Rock Wallaby is a Sagittarius who lives at the Ipswich Nature Centre and often contributes to Discover Ipswich in his spare time. When he's not busy showing tourists around, blogging or hanging out with his cute and fluffy mates at the Nature Centre, he likes to hit the gym for a leg session, graze on quinoa salad and ponder the possibilities of the universe.
