A carefree Bohemian/Gypsy ethos infuses the business Taryn Cochrane runs from her home in country Ipswich. So when she first saw bell tents she knew they were a perfect fit for her Soul Nook Collective.

The Soul Nook Collective

The venture started life as a Facebook page for a simple hair salon run from a building next to Taryn and husband Daniel’s miners cottage near the country town of Rosewood.

Locals might know Taryn’s mum – hairdresser Carol Cochrane – who has run Proudlocks hair salon in Marburg for many years.

Taryn’s home business morphed into a retail venture as she began displaying fashion and accessories in her salon – and visitors loved what they saw. This in turn led to special events, styled celebrations and those bell tents.

As well as running her own Soul Nook Collective events and workshops, Taryn makes her bell tents available for hire.

And they’re being snapped up for everything from romantic camping trips to bridal dressing rooms at country weddings.

The tents can be used fully enclosed or set up with the lower walls removed, and they can be hired as a simple tent or fully styled for themed weddings or events.

Bookings are available from August and the tents can be hired for locations across the wider region.

Taryn can be contacted at Soul Nook Collective.

Also good to know in the Rosewood area – the Rosewood Showgrounds offer camping and RV facilities.

Hardings Paddock is a popular camping spot with access to the vast Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate.
