Australia Day is being celebrated around Ipswich with events including pie eating, thong throwing and much more, find out where all the fun is happening below.

Australia Day celebrations at Tulmur Place

Celebrate Australia Day in the Nicholas Street Precinct. Tulmur Place will play host to a family-friendly day full of activities as we celebrate, all the things we love about our country.

Enjoy a welcome performance by the Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dance Company, singalong to Australian rock classics with cover band Chester, cool-down at the zero-depth water play zone and misting stations and enjoy a variety of food trucks of all tastes.

Event runs January 26 from 10am-2pm.

CSI Annual car park event

Australia Day at CSI

Club Services Ipswich are celebrating Australia Day on Sunday January 23 from 11am-3pm with their annual car park event.

Enjoy live entertainment, pop up bars, a dunk tank, jumping castle, petting zoo, face painting, food stalls and more.

There will also be children and adults pie eating competitions and thong throwing contests.

And from January 23 until January 26 you can get your hands on a special Longhorn Mega Burger for $24.90 which features a double pattie, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion rings, cheese, chips and a complimentary soft drink or pot of beer!

Australia Day at the Commercial Hotel Redbank

Head on down to the Commercial Hotel Redbank for live entertainment from 2pm-5.30pm on Australia Day.

Crikey, no need to sit on your “Pat Malone” this Australia day. Are you Goin yet? Willa Wara is going, only if dingos. So, head on down to the local billabong, (Commercial Hotel Redbank) for just the most “awesomeist” day anyone could have. I mean, how much can a koala bear? Lunch, drinks, as well as activities. Summer Haze and GABS Countdown party

Ballistic Springfield

Leading up to Aussie Day celebrate Ballistic Beer’s run at the GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beer titles with a countdown party.  The fun begins Saturday January 22 from 11am-11pm with live music, prizes and of course beer!

Then this Australia Day (January 26) Ballistic Springfield are having a Summer Haze party.  Enjoy the public holiday with food specials and a jumping castle from 11am-4pm.

Free entry to pools


To celebrate Australia Day public pools across Ipswich will be free entry!

That includes the Bundamba Swim Centre (pictured), the Georgie Conway Leichhardt Community Swim Centre, Goodna Aquatic Centre, and the Rosewood Aquatic Centre.

And of course Orion Springfield Lagoon will be open and free for families to have a dip.

Summer Land Camels are open on Australia Day so you can visit a local Aussie farm and try their Aussie made products.

There’s nothing more Australian than visiting a camel farm on Australia Day, and you can book in for a farm tour and taste or camel ride.

Also stop by the Homestead cafe for some delicious breakfast and lunch over looking the camels, which you can pet and feed.

The camel farm, Homestead Cafe and farm shop is open from 9am-3pm.
