With inbuilt trampolines, an inclusive merry-go-round, custom parkour inspired obstacle course, and swings – all surrounding a mammoth three-story climbing tower and giant slide – kids of all ages will be bouncing, swinging and climbing to their hearts content on the new Orion Springfield Central Playground which is now open!

Orion Springfield Central Manager, Melissa Crittenden, is over-the-moon to deliver this transformational project.

“The centrepiece of this innovative play space is the custom built 11 metre tower. The slide from the top of the tower rewards little adventurers, while the 16-metre walkway offers children a new elevated vantage point to engage with the space around them.”

Melissa said inclusion of all was at the heart of the new playground’s design which will provide equipment that is wheelchair and disability friendly.

“It was really important to Mirvac that our investment would bring joy to all in our community which is why we have ensured that there is a range of play equipment suitable for all ages and abilities including a dedicated Toddler Area, wheelchair friendly equipment and of course plenty of shade and seating for the parents,” said Crittenden.

The $1.5million playground is designed and built by Urban Play, who are pioneers in creating spaces that ignite adventure and inspire young minds and bodies.

Slide fun

Parents haven’t been forgotten – the playground has ample shade and bench seating and is located metres away from one of Springfield’s favourite cafés, Bookface Cafe offering mums and dads the chance to refresh their inner child with a fabulous Acai smoothie or recharge with a caffeine hit while the kids play.
