This Christmas holidays if you’ve got friends visiting and want to impress, or if you just don’t want to do the dishes, check out these great restaurants open to serve you.

Rafter and Rose

The charming Rafter and Rose cafe in Ipswich’s Top of Town precinct will be open until 11am on Christmas Day, then closing until January 11.

The Cottage Restaurant

The Cottage restaurant

This fine dining restaurant is fully booked for Christmas Day lunch but will also be open December 29, December 30, 31 and January 1 and from 6pm on January 2.

The Cottage Restaurant will then close for a few days and reopen from January 6 – 9.

They will be closed for a short break from January 10-26.

Racehorse Hotel

If you’re after some great pub fare, The Racehorse Hotel is open for the whole Christmas period from 10am-2pm.  Christmas eve the pub will close at midnight.

Brothers Leagues Club

Brothers Leagues Club will be open the entire Christmas period except Christmas Day.   The club boasts a restaurant and a cafe as well as three bars on site and have recently launched a new menu with great seafood offerings!

Pumpyard Bar and Brewery

There’s a couple of chances to get a taste of locally brewed craft beer and exceptional food from the Pumpyard Bar and Brewery these holidays.  While the Pumpyard will be closed most of the period between Christmas and New Years’ they are going to open from 12pm on Wednesday December 30 and 12pm on Thursday December 31.

Queens Park Cafe

Located in the heart of Ipswich right near the Ipswich Nature Centre and a fantastic children’s playground Queens Park Cafe will be open over the holidays except for Christmas and Boxing Day, December 27 and 28.

Club Services Ipswich will be open all through the holidays except Christmas Day, seven days a week from 10am – 4am.  Head into enjoy a drink at the bar or one of their popular pub meals like their huge chicken schnitzel!

Enjoy traditional Indian cuisine all holidays except Christmas Day at Memories of India.  Their most popular dish is butter chicken, with the restaurant serving over 100 kilos of it every week!

This Christmas they are offering a special takeaway pack for $55 Sunday to Thursdays.  You get a choice of two curries, two rice, two naan, raita and a six pack of XXXX gold beer or wine.

Memories of India will once again be providing food for the homeless from December 21-27 between 7.30pm-9pm.  They are also accepting gift donations if you would like to give someone less fortunate a gift this year.

PA Hotel

The Prince Alfred Hotel specialises in fresh delicious seafood.  They will be open all holidays except Christmas Day.

Indian Mehfil

You can enjoy delicious Indian food at Indian Mehfil for lunch and dinnner all through the Christmas period, they are even opening up on Christmas Day from 4.30pm to 9.30pm.

They will have reduced hours on December 28 also only opening from 4.30pm to 9.30pm.

Indian Mehfil are continuing their tradition of serving those less fortunate with Christmas lunch this year.  They will open the restaurant for Christmas Day lunch at no cost to seniors and those in need from noon to 2.30pm. They are taking donations of non-perishable food items and sanitary products for their special guests.

Brookwater Barista

The Brookwater Barista will be open every day over the holiday period except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.  Head in for great fresh food and menus featuring seasonal produce.

Ruby Chews

Classic burgers and crispy chicken as well as frozen custard are the things to try here.  Ruby Chews will be open during the holidays except for Christmas Day.

Fourthchild Cafe

Specialty Campos coffee, epic breakfasts and delicious lunches and dinners will be available at Fourthchild right up until December 23, then they will close over the holiday period between Christmas and New Year’s only opening on December 31 from 8am-8pm.

Retro Diner

Get stuck into some retro food including burgers, wraps and epic shakes at The Retro Diner.  Open all holidays except Christmas Day.

Don’t miss their new cocktail menu available Friday nights, great for a Christmas or New Year’s celebration.

You can enjoy gourmet ice cream the entire holiday period except Christmas Day, the boxing day holiday on December 28 and New Year’s Day.  Look out for new Candy Cane and Christmas pudding flavours!

Tuck into some Ungermann Brothers choc orange, carrot cake, blue cheese and fig, or lavender honeycomb.

Ballistic Springfield

Boutique beers and beer-infused food including a chocolate stout cheesecake!  Ballistic Springfield will be open as normal until December 24, then they will close from December 25-29 opening December 30 and 31 and again closed on New Year’s Day.  Normal trading by January 2.

Raw Energy Springfield

Fresh and vibrant food for breakfast and lunch.  Raw Energy is closed from December 24-28 and open again from December 29 7am-2pm and 8am-12pm on January 1.

The Girls’ Coffee Bar

You can tuck into delicious burgers, sandwiches and coffees at The Girls’ Coffee Bar right up until December 23.  The cafe will be closed from Christmas Eve until the Boxing day holiday on December 28 and will open again on Tuesday December 29.  They will stay open until December 31 and close on New Year’s Day.

Homage

Looking for a unique countryside experience with exceptional food then head to Homage!  They are open for dining during the holidays, however Christmas Day is booked out and will only be serving guests on Monday and Tuesday December 28 and 29.

Essence of Indya

New Indian restaurant Essence of Indya will be open the entire holidays except Christmas Day.  Get in for modern Indian dishes.

Breakfast at Stephanies

Hearty breakfasts and lunch by the Orion Lagoon are being served up over the holiday period at Breakfast at Stephanies.  Open every day except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 7am-5pm.

Chai House Cafe

Chai House Cafe at Silkstone will be open all holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Sunday December 27.

Commercial Hotel Redbank

Fentons at the Ipswich Club

Pre-order your slow cooked BBQ from Fentons at the Ipswich Club for pick up on Christmas Day, they will be open 11.30-2.30pm.

The Raceview Hotel

The Barn Family Restaurant at the Ipswich Turf Club will be open all holidays except Christmas and Boxing Day.  They will open for lunch and dinner most days, but lunch only Christmas Eve, dinner only New Year’s Eve and lunch only New Year’s Day.  There will also be a 15% surcharge on New Year’s Day.
