Join us for a late afternoon guided hike to watch the full moon rise just as the sun sets over the beautiful views from Mount Goolman Lookout.
Starting out at Hardings Paddock,  we will journey through creek gullies and learn about Nature’s amazing resilience and the life of the forest . A challenging ascent through woodland forest will lead us to the Lookout where we can soak in the calming energy of the sunset and the subtle shift to watch the moonrise; enjoy panoramic views over the Scenic Rim. Feel free to bring snacks and water while at the rest stop to enjoy once arriving at our destination; enjoy the moonlit serenity with spectacular panoramic views over Mt Goolman across the Little Liverpool Range. Then its torches out to head down the twilight trail and experience nature in a different light.

Time:  Meet your guides 15 minutes prior to start times.
Please plan ahead to arrive on time as courtesy to other guests, so the tour can depart and return on time.  Unfortunately the tour cannot be delayed for latecomers. You are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure times.

Where: Meet at Hardings Paddock, Flinders Goolman Conservation Estate – take  Carmichaels Road, Goolman to the very end (the road into the estate is on unsealed roads).

Cost: $20 per adult, $18 per concession, or $60 per family (up to 2A,2C combination minimum 1 Adult)*

*Please note that this tour is not recommended for children under 8 years old. All patrons must be able to hike unassisted for the duration of the tour.  Please read important information below:

Is this activity suitable for me?

  • Alcohol and drug free event
  • This walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and good balance
  • Secure enclosed footwear suited to bush walking is required
  • This walk is expected to take up to 3.5 hours
  • The walk is an unsealed bush track of moderate difficulty and includes steep, rocky, loose and sloping surfaces and is not suitable for prams or wheeled mobility devices.
  • The return walk will be after dark (headlamps provided)
  • Wildlife including snakes may be encountered on this walk

  • Headlamp and/ or torch (we will have some headlamps available to borrow if required)
  • Binoculars
  • A light jacket
  • Comfortable walking shoes and suitable clothing
