Stirling Road Reserve, Ipswich QLD 4340
Enjoy the school holidays with a relaxed yet fascinating afternoon in one of Ipswich’s most ecologically significant bushland reserves! Join us for a guided walk through the beautiful Stirling Road Reserve, where nature is quietly thriving and making a comeback.
As the late‑afternoon light filters through the trees, your guide will introduce you to the rare native plants and threatened wildlife that call this pocket of bushland home. This reserve supports species such as delicate dry vine thicket flora, regenerating after years of careful conservation work, as well as threatened fauna like wallum-dependent species, small forest birds, and shy ground‑dwelling creatures that are slowly returning as the habitat improves.
You may spot:
– Uncommon native herbs and shrubs returning through regeneration
– Birdlife flitting through recovering canopy
– Small macropods grazing in the shadows
– Tracks, scats, and signs of elusive threatened species
– Regrowth of the regionally significant dry vine forest ecosystem
Your guide will share how restoration efforts have brought this unique habitat back to life—and what to look for on your walk that shows regeneration in action.
