Located in the corner of Augusta Village, in Brookwater, this busy little café with a big personality is luring the locals in for its tasty fare, friendly atmosphere and beautiful cakes…

Blueberry and ricotta pancakes at Brookwater Barista

Brookwater Barista has been open for just over a year but the family run café/bar has already opened a second establishment just next door offering Italian treats from lunch time onwards (including deliveries).

It has a slightly different breakfast menu available than the norm – the blueberry and ricotta pancakes are absolutely gorgeous, brilliantly fluffy and satisfyingly sweet.

The Italian Job is another favourite consisting of poached eggs on ciabatta, BBQ pulled pork, traditional Italian Salsiccia (sausage), hollandaise sauce with cherry tomatoes and rocket.  Usual breakfast options are available with side orders to choose from, all of which makes it difficult to decide what to have!

The café also offers gluten and lactose free options together with vegan choices.

The meals are well proportioned and priced and there is something for everybody on the menu, but if that’s not enough there is a well-stocked treat cabinet containing scones, cakes, and breads.

The café is currently open from 6am until 2pm seven days a week, but the lunch menu is provided via the neighbouring establishment known as La Biancha.

With the use of a beautiful wood fired pizza oven, pizzas are heavily featured on the menu alongside other Italian favourites including pasta, salads and share plates.

La Biancha stays open until 8pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) and offers deliveries to surrounding suburbs.  And both establishments are licensed.

Carolyn and Alex, the owners, certainly make you feel very welcome and there is a strong sense of family – whilst busy, they make time to stop and chat. The atmosphere is cheerful, inviting and relaxing.

The café currently offers seating outside and the numbers will be increasing over the next few weeks as restrictions lift.  As they have two establishments in close quarters, they are able to provide seating in the outdoor courtyard area which is nestled between the two, accompanied by fairy lights for an al fresco dining feel.

Definitely one to add to the list!

Hi, my name is Elaine Hill and I am currently situated in Springfield within the Ipswich region. Having emigrated from the UK some 10 years ago, me and my family (husband, two children and various animals) I have to say we feel we are settled into the best area around. As well as photography, we love to go for walks in bushland, family barbecues, and enjoy the beautiful parks and beaches around. It is far removed from the lifestyle that we had in England. We originally come from Somerset, a county renowned for its cider and rolling countryside, however the weather – well we all know what the English weather is famous for! I have been photographing now for some three years, which started out as a hobby but has rapidly turned into a great love of mine and helps keep anxiety at bay. There is nothing more I enjoy than travelling around this beautiful area photographing walks, trails, parks, wildlife and the wonderful cafes and restaurants in this region with the family! Feel free to say hi if you see me on your travels.
