Like the twist in its name, this Indian Restaurant offers a twist on the menu too!

Alongside a lengthy list of traditional favourites of Indian cuisine, you’ll find an array of interesting and delicious contemporary offerings with a twist of fusion. Lunch options, for example, include lamb curry wraps and chicken sliders.

House Specials offer up delightful creations including a rosemary-marinated slow cooked lamb dish with potatoes in a spiced sauce. Tasmanian Salmon features among the seafood listings, paired with black garlic and yoghurt, and cooked in the clay oven.

And speaking of Tasmania, owners Sid Tripatha and Chandan Singh had restaurants there before moving to Queensland. They also own Indian Tadka, famed for its black charcoal kulfi dessert, at Augustine Heights.

Their menu for Essence of Indya includes many vegetarian options as well as traditional chicken, lamb and seafood curries and there are plenty of options for vegan and gluten-free dining.

The restaurant occupies a light and airy heritage corner building that has been freshened up with white paint and with tables flowing to an outdoor courtyard strung with overhead lights.

You’ll find Essence of Indya at 37 Warwick Road, Ipswich with off-street parking available at the rear.
