Breakfast date

Breakfast at Stephanies

If you enjoy waking up when the sun rises and greeting the day while the birds are chirping, why not enjoy a breakfast date at Breakfast at Stephanies at Springfield Central.

Open early 7 days a week and located at Orion Lagoon across from Orion Springfield Central shopping centre, the menu ranges from French toast and pancakes, to bacon and eggs and breakfast wraps.

With fun names like Marilyn Munroe, Agent 99 and Clint Eastwood, Breakfast at Stephanies is definitely the place to impress.

By the way, the word on the street is that the Shirley Temple is a must try!

Action date

52nd Winternationals

Want to impress your date with noise and action? Then head to the iconic Willowbank Raceway for some drag racing entertainment.

Races are held regularly throughout the year (check website for details), but if youʼd prefer to be in the action than on the sidelines watching, there are opportunities available to race your own car or bike too.

Prefer smaller wheels? Then try Skateway Bundamba, where you can hire a pair of skates and show off your skate skills to the latest music in air-conditioned comfort.

Nature date

Looking for a date which gets you out into the fresh air and away from the noise of a raceway and skate way?

Then put on your sand shoes and go on a nature date to explore the hiking trails of Ipswich.

Purga Nature Reserve is a favourite for walking tracks, with a number of easy flat tracks to explore and take in the flora and fauna of the local bush.

If an endurance trek is your style escape to the Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate and set out on the 19km route to test your fitness and enjoy the beauty of the surrounds.

Movie date

Tivoli Markets

If your date is more into movies and relaxing, then the Tivoli Drive In is your date destination.

Open every Saturday night and located on Coal Rd at Chuwar, the Tivoli Drive In is one of the last remaining drive-inʼs in Queensland.

Enjoy the relaxing experience from the comfort of your own car, or head to the onsite cafe and indulge in dinner and snacks while watching a movie.  Check the website for movies and times.

Want to upgrade your movie experience? Head into the CBD for a gold class cinema experience at Limelight Cinemas.

Art appreciation date

Art lovers looking for a date idea will find enjoyment in browsing the Ipswich Art Gallery, which proudly lays claim to being one of the most visited regional art galleries in Australia.

The Gallery is a visual arts and history museum and although small, houses a number of fascinating historic Ipswich artefacts and welcomes a range of interesting exhibitions throughout the year.

In Ipswich art isn’t confined to within the walls of the Ipswich Art Gallery, download the Lady Brisbane Ipswich Street Art trail and locate unique street art all within walking distance of the gallery.

Dinner date

If youʼre a traditionalist and like the idea of a dinner date, Ipswich has plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from.

From the romantic setting of The Cottage to the funky vibe of the Pumpyard to the newest restaurant in town, Bakehouse Steakhouse, there’s a perfect date location for every taste.

Occupying the site of the old Haleys Bakery, Bakehouse Steakhouse serves, you guessed it, steak. All steaks are served with endless fries, a soft leaf salad and your choice of house-made sauce.

There is also a lunch menu on offer including a gourmet cheeseburger, or a pork chop option plus a delicious range of desserts which you could always share with your date.

Dessert date

Ungermann Brothers tasting plate

Speaking of dessert, if you and your date have a sweet tooth then indulge and enjoy a dessert date at Ipswichʼs famous Ungermann Brothers, and treat yourselves to one of their gourmet ice creams.

All ice cream is made fresh onsite daily, using locally sourced ingredients and depending when you visit, you can see the ice cream being made.

With 17 flavours to choose from, ranging from carrot cake to fairy bread, salted caramel bacon and pecan, to lavender and honey.

If the choice is too hard, why not order a plated dessert and enjoy together.
