Brisbane Family Explorers at Christmas Wonderland

Whether Christmas carols, lights, food, fireworks or activities are your thing, Christmas in Ipswich has you covered!

Christmas Wonderland is a magical display of glittering lights, illuminated trees, animated displays, light tunnels and projections in the beautiful setting of Nerima Gardens at Queens Park.

From it’s opening night on Friday, December 13 right through to Sunday December 22 you can immerse yourself in wonderful Christmas cheer at this fantastic event.

These beautiful gardens will be covered in a perfectly arranged light display and will be a magical experience for people of all ages.

And it’s not just the lights that you’ll find here at Nerima Gardens – there will be roving carollers, Christmas stalls, food and live entertainment for the whole family.

It’s free to visit and with this much Christmas cheer Santa and his friends won’t be able to stay away, so keep an eye out for the big man!

Christmas Wonderland kicks off from 6pm nightly with food trucks and Christmas stalls before the main event opens about 7pm.

Be sure to get there on time as no doubt this event will be very popular.

Christmas in Ipswich also has a fantastic way to make Santa accessible to everyone, all across the city!

Finding Santa is a really fun and interactive augmented reality trail that is available in 40 locations within the city from November 15 through to December 31.

Just grab your compatible phone or tablet, find one of the festive pavement stickers and watch your world come to life with festive cheer!

You might see Rudolf, a Christmas tree could spring up out of the pavement or you might even see Santa himself!

The pavement stickers are placed in popular spots around the city and it’s really simple to use.

After opening the app on your device and pointing it at the sticker, festive animations will magically appear right before your eyes – let your little guys interact with the animations and they will be amazed, and make sure to snap a photo (in the app) for your magical Christmas in Ipswich keepsake.

Ipswich and Riverlink Shopping Centre also have a wonderful four-night celebration of Christmas cheer with a nightly Christmas inspired fireworks display by the river starting from December 19. Along with the fireworks, there will be carollers, food trucks and a fantastically festive atmosphere.

There are also lots of community events throughout the region and Christmas Light competitions – so much Christmas cheer!

We love this time of year, it’s such a wonderful atmosphere and there’s no shortage of entertainment around to enjoy.
