All aboard for a wholly interactive authentic heritage and cultural experience located at the birthplace of rail in Queensland.

Make history come alive with more than 15 larger-than-life hands-on exhibits, multi-media encounters and colourful stories coupled with huge steam locomotives and massive industrial machinery.

Bookings are essential. To make a booking please contact our Bookings Officer on (07) 3432 5100 Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:00pm.

To align with the Queensland Government’s COVID-safe Roadmap, there will be restrictions to maximum group sizes to allow for social distancing and the capacity limits of exhibitions and spaces. This will be discussed in more detail with you by our Bookings Officer who will also provide a detailed itinerary for your excursion.

Tour Details

New $150 to $650 rebate for Groups visiting Ipswich:
Ipswich City Council has launched a new rebate program, which provides a financial incentive for groups (tour companies, schools, Probus, corporate) of 10 or more paid participants visiting the heritage City of Ipswich. Click here to learn more.

Availability / Opening Hours:

Opens daily (closed Good Friday, ANZAC Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Museum tours daily at 10:30am and 12noon. Tours last approximately 30 minutes.

Admission is free until 30 August 2020, however bookings are still essential due to capped capacities.
