Flavours of Ipswich is Good to Go!

There’s always a lot on offer to see and do at Summerland Camels – and even more for Flavours of Ipswich!

This unique property, where owner Paul Martin is passionate about progressive sustainable farming practices, offers a great day out and some entertainment, education and great food on the side.

For Flavours of Ipswich, there’s even more on offer, and a chance to try some of the beautiful food produces on the farm.

Start with a Camelcino – made using camel milk which, Paul explains, is known to be easier to digest than cow’s milk even for those with a lactose intolerance.

Enjoy a Homestead Burger featuring the Summer Land Persian feta and served with salad and fries, then finish with a camel milk gelato.

That’s a great day out right there!

And don’t forget to grab a bag of feed for $2 on your way out and handfeed one of those big gentle giants.

You can also book sunrise camel rides and farm tours, and peruse an on-site shop selling a complete camel milk skincare range.

And here’s an interesting fact to ponder while you enjoy that fabulous lunch: Some time after this property was bought to be developed into a camel farm, an interesting link turned up. It turns out the land was owned by Allan and Bella Chauvel from 1901 to the mid-1930s. It was Allan’s brother, Sir Harry Chauvel, who famously commanded the Anzac Mounted Division, incorporating the Imperial Camel Corps, in Palestine in World War I.
