Tea connoisseur Dona Perera has opened Tranquil Tea House in Ipswich to share her love of delicious and health-giving teas and blends from her homeland of Sri Lanka.

Many will recognise Dona from the masterclasses she has been running for some time in the heritage city and the shop she ran for some time at the Boulevard Arcade.

She says it is a dream come true to finally have her own tea house in the leafy grounds of her Tivoli home.

Tranquil Tea House is open on weekends for visitors to explore pure Sri Lankan teas – you can choose from an educational Tea Experience class, a high tea or simply pop in to enjoy incredible tea and fresh scones for $12.

Tea is a passion for Dona and she loves to talk about the many varieties she imports directly from Sri Lanka and sells under her Tranquil Tea brand.

She began the brand early in 2018 stocking a range of single estate teas and hard-to-find tisanes.
