160 Brisbane Street‚ Ipswich

Mike’s Pizzeria brought traditional wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza to the heart of Ipswich when it opened mid-2021, a sibling dining destination for the popular German-themed Heisenberg Haus next door.

Lending an authentic edge to the menu, Chef Francesco is from Florence, many of the ingredients he uses are from Italy and even the custom-made wood-fired oven was specially imported from Italy.

Diners enjoy being able to see him making the pizzas in the open kitchen.

A range of Italian wines and beers are featured on the drinks list.

Along with a long list of delicious Italian combinations, there’s also a ‘Not the Wurst’ pizza which owner Dale incorporated into the menu to bring a piece of Heisenberg next door into Mike’s. It features that hearty German sausage and mustard and is already a hit with locals and the Brisbanites who flock to this part of town on the weekends.

Mike’s sits on Brisbane Street in the precinct known as the Top of Town which is full of cafes, restaurants and specialty shops tucked into character-filled century-old buildings.
