Heads up, foodies! The City of Ipswich – or the “Swich” as it’s fondly known – is flush with fabulous dining experiences…. And fresh delights are being added to the menu all the time.
One of the new kids on the block is UB’s Milk Bar – a retro retake on a local success story.
Ipswich-based Ungermann Brothers earned fame for its unusually flavoured (and delicious) ice cream.
Now the business has expanded into hot food with the opening of a milk bar-slash-diner in the heritage heart of Ipswich – Brisbane Street.
Wagyu Beef Burgers, hand-cut chips, all-day waffles and monster milkshakes are just some of the mouth-watering options on the menu. Happy Days!
For a glass of something stronger, get yourself – sharpish – to The Rusty Nail. This speak-easy style bar is one of the opening salvos in transforming Nicholas Street Mall into the city’s new recreational heart.
The bar is named for the world’s oldest cocktail – The Rusty Nail – invented in pre-Prohibition America of the 20’s.
Signature tapas is the drawcard on the menu here – sensational chef-inspired delights that are made to share.
