Here’s a great way you can support local businesses in these unusual times – order takeaway!

Your favourite restaurants are still open, and are a great alternative to braving the crowds at Woolies and Coles.

While there are many options available on Menulog and Uber Eats, these top rated Ipswich and Springfield restaurants are among the food options upping the takeaway game in the Heritage City.

Not all are available for delivery at the moment, but most can be pre-ordered and picked up from the venue – our tip is minimising contact and using a card to tap and go when you’re doing your pick up.

Bakehouse Steakhouse

Bakehouse Wagyu cheeseburger

Popular steak restaurant Bakehouse Steakhouse has launched Bakehouse Buns, a takeaway range available at the same times the restaurant is open.

On the menu is their Wagyu cheeseburger, Bakehouse Burger, Steakhouse Sandwich, fries and onion rings.

Coming soon on the menu is a blue cheese and bacon burger, southern fried chicken burger, hotdog and a vegan hotdog!

They are also offering their full Bakehouse Steakhouse menu for takeaway.

Opening times are Tuesday to Thursday 11.30am-2.30pm and 5pm-9pm for dinner.  Friday and Saturday opening times are 11.30am until late and Sundays 11.30am-2.30pm.

Bakehouse Steakhouse are also offering kids eat free Tuesday to Saturdays with any adult meal purchased – dining in only.  This offer is valid for kids meals for a limited time only.  Check with staff when you’re booking to make sure deal is still available.

Ballistic Springfield, Brewery, Bar and Kitchen

You can order takeaway food from Ballistic Springfield, Brewery Bar and Kitchen, and they are setting up online ordering.

Ballistic are also offering free local beer delivery, within a 5km radius of the Springfield venue for orders $70 and more and will soon offer wine and spirits delivery.

On the menu is steak, crispy fried chicken burgers, house made chicken parma, beer battered frickles and rings as well as pizza.

Ungermann Brothers

Ungermann Brothers Ice Cream

At the moment you can order takeaway gourmet Ungermann Brothers ice cream through Uber Eats and Menulog.

They also offer take-home packs in-store so you can tuck into the new salted caramel, chocolate and potato chip ice cream in the comfort of your own home.

There’s also a nice little park right next to the Ipswich store which is a great location to sit and eat or drink a handcrafted gourmet milkshake while you’re maintaining social distance! 

Ungermanns are introducing new flavours and have added carrot cake to their list which includes: strawberry balsamic, dark chocolate and mandarin, pumpkin seed, dutch spice, lavender honeycomb, roasted garlic, peanut butter, vanilla bean, fairy-bread, lime and coconut, liqourice and fennel, coffee and cardamom liquor, lemon lime bitters sorbet, as well as salted caramel with bacon and pecan.

You can order delicious takeaway from the PA Hotel’s Char’d menu from 10am-9pm seven days a week.

The extensive offering includes greek lamb pizza, arancini, calamari, pork belly BAO, smoked brisket, Thai beef salad, fried chicken wings, red claw crayfish, parmigiana and more!

Pumpyard Bar and Brewery

A take home food menu from the Pumpyard Bar and Brewery is now available.

The Pumpyard are famous for their amazing burgers, pizzas and wings – so we’re really excited to hear that you can now get deals on pizza, burgers and lamb salad with beers to take home from the restaurant.

Take home orders are available from 12pm to 8pm Wednesday through to Saturday and free delivery is now available for Ipswich suburbs including East Ipswich, Basin Pocket, Moore’s Pocket, Sadliers Crossing, Coalfalls, Newtown, Eastern Heights and West Ipswich.

On the menu is shared dishes including pork skewers, ribs and arancini.  You can also get the 4 Hearts Platter which includes wings, ribs, fries, skewers, cheesy garlic bread and sliders.

You can also order hand stretched pizzas including the fat pig, prosciutto and pear, and forest mushroom.

There’s range of burgers including the southern fried chicken, steak burger and Peking duck BAO.

And you can get classics like bangers and mash, parmi, Ipswich brisket, lamb shanks, fish and chips, chicken caesar salad and more.

There’s wines, spirits, soft drinks and delicious brewed dancing bean coffee all available for takeaway too.

Pumpyard also offer take home beer and can re-fill squealers and growlers.  Brewery door sales are available 12pm Wednesday through to Sunday.

The Retro Diner

The Retro Diner are on Uber Eats and Menu Log, they’ll even deliver to your car if you like from the loading zone across the road, or if you’re within walking distance to the shop.

They are also selling grinders coffee beans so you can brew your favourite cup at home.

On the menu is delicious burgers including their double bacon cheeseburger and fries, BLT and toasted sandwiches.  You can order kids meals through delivery as well as pancakes, loaded croissants, burgers, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, quiche and a range of salads.

They are also selling fresh Moreton Bay prawns and squid from the store and offer delivery for a fee – a great alternative when there’s no meat left on the shelves.

They have also started a mini-mart selling eggs, bread, milk, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, pasta, tinned and frozen goods and will deliver to people who are isolated, have disabilities or are elderly.

You’ll find delicious Indian takeaway at Memories of India.  They are set up to take online orders through their website and are on meal delivery apps.

On the menu is platters and starters including basil chicken tikka, vodka chicken and lamb cutlets – they also have an extensive range of takeaway mains from special house curries including saag goat curry, lamb hyderabadi and chicken lababdar to favourites like butter chicken and vegetable korma.

There’s a range of naan bread and rice as well as lamb, beef, chicken and seafood options.

Homestyle Chinese restaurant Ange’s Kitchen are on Menulog and will be available on Uber Eats soon.  

Available is a range of family packs, starters including their duck spring rolls, vegetable, combination, chicken, pork and beef stir fries.

There’s noodle dishes like ho fun, chow mein and Singapore noodles, laksa, sizzling plates, spicy crunchy pork, plum pork ribs, fried rice, salads and soups.

Heisenberg Haus

Heisenberg Haus are now offering takeaway for all their menu items.

Tuck into their famous pork knuckle in the comfort of your own home (24 hours notice is required before ordering this menu item).

On the menu is pork belly, vegan veggie stack, cheesy spatzle, striploin steak, chicken breast, fish and wurst.  Dessert includes apple strudel, chocolate mousse, cocowhip and sticky date pudding!

They have also started takeaway traditional Neapolitan pizzas for dinner only.

Order Not the Wurst (bratwurst, cheese kransky, franfurter, fior di latte, San Marzano tomatoes, smokey BBQ sauce and German mustard), Salami (San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte and mild salami, pork and fennel sasuage), Diavola Devil’s Pizza (San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, hot salami, extra virgin olive oil infused with chilli) or a Quattro Formaggi Four Cheese (Fior di latte, taleggio, strachhini, grana padano).  

There’s a few other flavours too including Marinara, Margherita, Vegetarian and Pepperoni.

Everything on the outstanding Rafter and Rose cafe menu is available for takeaway!  If you’re not comfortable coming into the cafe, you can phone through the order and they will run it out to your car with the eftpos for payment.  

On the menu is their famous French toast, eggs benny, toasties, burgers, steak sandwiches, freshly baked pastries including croissants, cheesecake, muffins and cinnamon buns, frittata and much more!

Brookwater Barista in Springfield have been offering takeaway for sometime, but they’re also staring to offer pre-cooked portioned meals you can freeze in the case of lockdown or self-isolation.

They’re also doing pre-paid vouchers for their Facebook friends at a 40% discount, so $150 voucher will cost $90 – those vouchers can be redeemed up until December 15, 2020 and can be split to be used at different times.

Online the Friday night dinner menu has mac and cheese croquettes, lemon pepper crispy squid, sticky BBQ ribs, gourmet pizzas, and wings.

Lunch includes a Cuban burger with slow cooked pulled pork, chipotle slaw, lettuce, cheese and an onion ring.  There’s also crispy pork belly Vietnamese salad, Spanish linguini, lamb shank, roast pork with apple sauce and their hot cured salmon.

BLVD Restaurant in the Springfield Lakes Hotel are offering takeaways as well as contact-less pick up and delivery through Menulog.

On the menu is slow smoked pulled pork loaded corn chips, pulled pork served with BBQ fries and pickles, chicken Maryland, beef brisket, pork and beef ribs.

They also have share platters, gnocchi, burgers and steak as well as mac and cheese, cheesy loaded fries and handmade sauces.

Commercial Hotel Redbank

The Commercial Hotel Redbank is offering their full menu as takeaway.

On the menu is cheesy garlic bread, pulled pork burgers, smokey BBQ ribs, beef burger, chicken schnitty burger, fish and chips, curry of the week and a pasta of the week.

Marburg Pub

Marburg Pub is offering takeaway

The Marburg Pub are offering meal delivery and pick up from the restaurant.

On the menu is chicken burgers, corn and zucchini fritter burgers, steak sandwiches, chicken schnitzels, parmigianas, beer battered flathead, seafood baskets, Thai beef salads, garden salad with marinated chicken and kids meals like nuggets, parmigiana or battered fish.

This month they are having a steak special 300g Black Angus Rib Fillet for $28 with mash and veg or chips and salad.  They also have a Wednesday and Thursday night dinner special – one meal for $15 or two for $25 for selected meals.

Delivery to Marburg, Minden, Rosewood and Haigslea is $5 for orders over $30.

Alcohol is also available, please ask when your place your order about availability.

The Cafe Kalina

The Cafe Kalina are making up for not having a drive through by running orders out when you park out the front of the cafe.

They have takeaway up and running, just text your name, order, rego and time for collection to 0408 300 026 and tap your card when you’re there.

On the menu is brekky items like bacon, egg and cheese toasties, coffee, eggs benny, brekky burritos and more.

They are also offering heat and eat meals like pesto chicken pasta, grilled fish, curried sausages with veges, roast pork and veg with gravy, tortilla stacks and more.  Prices start at $8.50. 

They also have burgers with Angus beef, satay chicken, fish and haloumi options.

The cafe has decided to open Friday and Saturday nights for special burger nights and fish ‘n’ chips nights.

The Girls’ Coffee Bar

The Girls’ also have a great burger range on offer including chilli chicken, beef ‘n’ bacon, BLAT, steak and mustard, fish burger, veggie burger and more.

And there’s mains like lasagne chips and salad, Mediterranean open grill, garden salad with chicken and bacon, chicken and wombok salad, fish and chips and much more!

Fancy a drive?  Homage – the hatted restaurant at Spicers Hidden Vale – is now offering takeaway food options and a drive through service for dinner! 

On the lunch takeaway menu is $15 options, including fried chicken with black garlic mayo, white bread, lime and fermented chilli oil; Angus sirloin steak sandwiches with wood fired BBQ sauce, tomato, cheddar, pickled onion and fries; and beef burgers with special sauce, smoked cheese, pickles and fries!  Extra fries for $8.

The dinner drive thru menu includes wood fired pizzas, family share meals and sides.

On the Pizza menu there is three options the first is local chicken, salt baked pineapple, red onion and house made BBQ sauce.  There’s also a prosciutto, bocconcini, fresh basil, rocket and parmesan pizza and one with local ham with mushrooms, artichokes, olives and garden herbs.

Family meal options are spit roasted pork leg with crackle, wood roasted apples, potatoes, pumpkin, peas and red wine jus and also a spit roasted beef brisket with slaw, flatbreads, potatoes, pumpkin, peas and red wine jus.

There is also wood fired sourdough with smoked butter and sticky date pudding with toffee sauce to add to your order!

On the menu is the new Oikos Lunchbox including their no smash avo which has been deconstructed so you can create it at home or work for $15.
