RAAF Base Amberley’s Aviation Heritage Centre is a not-for-profit, must-see attraction for everyone visiting south-east Queensland, especially military aviation history enthusiasts.
The Heritage Centre has a range of exhibits and displays for visitors to explore. Our collection of aircraft include: a C-47 Dakota, F-111, World War ll Boston Bomber, a Vietnam-era Canberra bomber, Caribou airlifter, Sabre fighter jet, Macchi, Winjeel plus a Sioux and Iroquois helicopter.

Tour Details
New $150 to $650 rebate for Groups visiting Ipswich:
Ipswich City Council has launched a new rebate program, which provides a financial incentive for groups (tour companies, schools, Probus, corporate) of 10 or more paid participants visiting the heritage City of Ipswich. Click here to learn more.
Availability / Opening Hours:
Centre is open on Tuesdays and Thursday, between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Tours can be booked up until 2pm.

Normally 10 to 100.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, group sizes for RAAF AAHC visits are currently limited to 20 people.

Group visits are free.
We accept donations if visitors would like to make a small contribution.
We will do our best to accommodate all groups, noting that we may have other visitors on the day.
Special Conditions / Additional Information:
Recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring a hat and water bottle.
Heritage Centre is located within 4 hangars, with an outside area in the middle. We are not air conditioned.
Due to RAAF Base Amberley security requirements, visitors who are 16 years old and over are required to present government issued photographic ID to enable entry to the base
