The Ipswich Show may be off, but the fun will go on! 

Ipswich residents are being encouraged to let their creative sides run free by decorating their front yards and driveways on the Ipswich Show Holiday, May 15 for Front Yard Friday.

After you’ve decorated your garden, fence or driveway take the afternoon off cooking and order your favourite takeaway – we’ve got you covered with all the restaurants open this Friday!

Radio station River 94.9 will be playing Front Yard Friday requests throughout the day.  Activities to help children with decorating their yard can be downloaded from ipswich.qld.gov.au/ipswichtogether.

Tommy Smith Cafe

Tommy Smith Cafe at Woodlands of Marburg is open for takeaway.

The cafe’s brand new Indonesian takeaway menu is available Wednesday to Sunday for dinner.

On the newly created menu is Nasi Goreng, Sate Ayam (chicken skewers with peanut sauce), Gulai Kambing (lamb curry with white rice and pickles), Sambal Goreng Udan (fried chilli prawns with white rice and pickles), Ayam Goreng (Indonesian fried chicken with white rice, pickles and Sambal), Rendang (spicy beef with white rice and pickles) and Babi Kecap (sweet soy pork with white rice, pickles and Sambal).

There’s also noodles, Mie Goreng (fried noodles), Basko (Indonesian meatball noodle soup) and Mie Ayam (Indonesian chicken noodle soup).

For the kids there’s chicken and pork skewers, Indonesian fried chicken and sweet soy pork.

Don’t miss dessert, Pisang Goreng (fried bananas, toasted with coconut ice-cream and biscuit crumb) and Dadar Goreng (coconut palm sugar filled crepes and vanilla bean ice cream).  Woodlands of Marburg also stocks Ungermann Brothers Ice Cream for takeaway including the exclusive Mary Stuart Bumbleberry ice cream, triple chocolate, fairy bread and strawberries and cream.

Tommy Smith Cafe will also deliver for $10 with a minimum order of $30 to surrounding areas – check with them before placing an order.

Brothers Leagues Club have launched a new takeaway menu, as well as heat and eat meals and a car park cafe!

The car park cafe is open seven days from 6am-12pm serving delicious coffees from $4, juice, cans of soft drink, muffins, sandwiches, toasties and wraps.

On the takeaway menu is garlic, herb and parmesan bread, soup of the day, rump with roast potatoes and steamed veg, Thai chicken curry, pasta carbonara and ribs ‘n’ wings with potato salad and coleslaw.

There’s also burgers (Angus beef and chicken schnitty) and pizza (ham and pineapple, char grilled vegetable, smokey BBQ meat lovers and BBQ chicken), fruit salad and more.

The heat ‘n’ eat menu can be delivered for $5 within a 15 minute radius of the club on Fridays from 10am-6pm for free if you spend $50 or more.

Meals come in two price brackets, $12 or five for $50 and $15 each or five for $60.  There’s linguine bolognese, chef’s roast of the day, curried chicken, soup, Thai prawn curry, wok tossed noodles, beef lasagne and more.  You can even add on garlic bread ($7), cake ($7) or soup ($10).

Popular steak restaurant Bakehouse Steakhouse has launched Bakehouse Buns, a takeaway range available at the same times the restaurant is open.

On the menu is their Wagyu cheeseburger, Bakehouse Burger, Steakhouse Sandwich, fries and onion rings.

They are also offering their full Bakehouse Steakhouse menu for takeaway.

Ballistic Petite Steak

You can order takeaway food from Ballistic Springfield Brewery Bar and Kitchen, and they have online ordering.

Ballistic are also offering free local beer delivery, within a 5km radius of the Springfield venue for orders $70 and more and will soon offer wine and spirits delivery.

On the menu is $10 items from chicken schnitty burger and chips, cheeseburger and chips, mushroom and halloumi burger and chips, to fish and chips, popcorn chicken, steak sandwich and dumplings.

Pizza is $14, parmy and chips $15 and there’s brisket gnocchi for $12.

Retro Diner Carnivore burger

The Retro Diner are on Uber Eats and Menu Log, they’ll even deliver to your car if you like from the loading zone across the road, or if you’re within walking distance to the shop.

They are also selling grinders coffee beans so you can brew your favourite cup at home.

On the menu is delicious burgers including their double bacon cheeseburger and fries, BLT and toasted sandwiches.  You can order kids meals through delivery as well as pancakes, loaded croissants, burgers, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, quiche and a range of salads.

They are also selling fresh Moreton Bay prawns and squid from the store and offer delivery for a fee – a great alternative when there’s no meat left on the shelves.

They have also started a mini-mart selling eggs, bread, milk, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, pasta, tinned and frozen goods and will deliver to people who are isolated, have disabilities or are elderly.

The Rafter and Rose cafe menu is available for takeaway!  If you’re not comfortable coming into the cafe, you can phone through the order and they will run it out to your car with the eftpos for payment.  

On the menu is eggs, granola, acai bowls, toasties, BLT, bacon and egg rolls, burgers and much more.

There’s also freshly baked pies, doughnuts, scones, croissants and other goodies changing on a daily basis.

Fourthchild Cafe, Restaurant and Lounge Bar in the Top of Town are on meal delivery apps like Uber Eats and Menulog.

On the menu there is a succulent 48hr Pork Belly with spiced pakora’s, kipfler potatoes, baby vegetables, apple sauce and jus and a choice of two desserts.

And a MSA grain fed sirloin for two with crispy fried onions, kipfler potatoes, baby veg, sweet pepper relish and cracked pepper jus and a choice of two desserts.

On the dessert menu is brulee and citrus lime curd tart.

The Cafe Kalina are making up for not having a drive through by running orders out when you park out the front of the cafe.

They have takeaway up and running, just text your name, order, rego and time for collection to 0408 300 026 and tap your card when you’re there.

On the menu is brekky items like bacon, egg and cheese toasties, coffee, eggs benny, brekky burritos and more.

They are also offering heat and eat meals like pesto chicken pasta, grilled fish, curried sausages with veges, roast pork and veg with gravy, tortilla stacks and more.  Prices start at $8.50. 

They also have burgers with Angus beef, satay chicken, fish and haloumi options.

The cafe has decided to open Friday and Saturday nights for special burger nights and fish ‘n’ chips nights.

Marburg Pub is offering takeaway

The Marburg Hotel are offering meal delivery and pick up from the restaurant.

On the menu is chicken burgers, corn and zucchini fritter burgers, steak sandwiches, chicken schnitzels, parmigianas, beer battered flathead, seafood baskets, Thai beef salads, garden salad with marinated chicken and kids meals like nuggets, parmigiana or battered fish.

This month they are having a steak special 300g Black Angus Rib Fillet for $28 with mash and veg or chips and salad.  They also have a Wednesday and Thursday night dinner special – one meal for $15 or two for $25 for selected meals.

Delivery to Marburg, Minden, Rosewood and Haigslea is $5 for orders over $30.

Fancy a drive?  Homage – the hatted restaurant at Spicers Hidden Vale – is now offering takeaway food options and a drive through service for dinner! 

On the lunch takeaway menu is $15 options, including fried chicken with black garlic mayo, white bread, lime and fermented chilli oil; Angus sirloin steak sandwiches with wood fired BBQ sauce, tomato, cheddar, pickled onion and fries; and beef burgers with special sauce, smoked cheese, pickles and fries!  Extra fries for $8.

The dinner drive thru menu includes wood fired pizzas, family share meals and sides.

On the Pizza menu there are three options, the first is local chicken with salt baked pineapple, red onion and house made BBQ sauce.  There’s also a prosciutto, bocconcini, fresh basil, rocket and parmesan pizza and one with local ham with mushrooms, artichokes, olives and garden herbs.

Family meal options are spit roasted pork leg with crackle, wood roasted apples, potatoes, pumpkin, peas and red wine jus and also a spit roasted beef brisket with slaw, flatbreads, potatoes, pumpkin, peas and red wine jus.

There is also wood fired sourdough with smoked butter and sticky date pudding with toffee sauce to add to your order!

The Pumpyard are famous for their amazing burgers, pizzas and wings – and they have deals on pizza, burgers and lamb salad with beers to take home from the restaurant.

Take home orders are available from Wednesday through to Saturday and free delivery is available for Ipswich suburbs including East Ipswich, Basin Pocket, Moore’s Pocket, Sadliers Crossing, Coalfalls, Newtown, Eastern Heights and West Ipswich.

On the menu is shared dishes including pork skewers, ribs and arancini.  You can also get the 4 Hearts Platter which includes wings, ribs, fries, skewers, cheesy garlic bread and sliders.

There’s a range of burgers including the southern fried chicken, steak burger and Peking duck BAO.

Pumpyard also offer take home beer and can re-fill squealers and growlers.  Brewery door sales are available 12pm Wednesday through to Sunday.

New freezer ready meals have been added to the range including beef cheeks, beef stroganoff and lamb korma – check in to see what’s available.

A new $10 lunch menu has been introduced from 12pm-3pm Wednesday to Sunday and includes the Pumpyard burger, southern fried chicken burger and steak burger.  There’s also pizzas including margherita, forest mushroom and pepperoni, ham and cheese calzone as well as chicken caesar salad for $10.

Summer Land Camels is offering special Ipswich Show Day Gourmet Pizza lunch and dinner specials.

Made on a delicious 12 inch sourdough base their gourmet pizzas are topped with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.  Lunch is available from 10am-3pm and dinner 5pm-7pm.

There’s also a nice little park right next to the Ipswich store which is a great location to sit and eat or drink a handcrafted gourmet milkshake while you’re maintaining social distance! 

Ungermanns are introducing new flavours and have added carrot cake to their list which includes: strawberry balsamic, dark chocolate and mandarin, pumpkin seed, dutch spice, lavender honeycomb, roasted garlic, peanut butter, vanilla bean, fairy-bread, lime and coconut, liqourice and fennel, coffee and cardamom liquor, lemon lime bitters sorbet, as well as salted caramel with bacon and pecan.

Brookwater Barista in Springfield offer delicious takeaway and they’re doing pre-cooked portioned meals you can freeze up.

The menu includes a Cuban burger with slow cooked pulled pork, chipotle slaw, lettuce, cheese and an onion ring.  There’s also crispy pork belly Vietnamese salad, Spanish linguini, lamb shank, roast pork with apple sauce and their hot cured salmon.
