Bakehouse Steakhouse – the cool contemporary eatery that sprang up in a century-old bakery building in late 2018, has earned a reputation as one of the state’s very best steak restaurants.
With noted chef Josh Lawson in the kitchen and connections to some impressive beef producers, the restaurant keeps its menu focused on premium offerings handled simply. The steaks are teamed with smart sides and huge mounds of fries.
The same generosity has gone into the Flavours of Ipswich menu with hearty burgers on the menu served with those popular fries.
To be sure, these are not just any burgers – there’s a Wagyu Cheeseburger with pickles, caramelised onion and Bakehouse sauce; the classic Bakehouse Burger; a Fried Chicken Burger; and a BBQ Onion Ring Burger.
You can choose two courses for $25 and there’s a choice of four desserts…an oozy banoffee pie with banana custard, salted caramel and Bakehouse fudge; a New York Cheesecake with cream cheese frosting and berry coulis; a chocolate and walnut brownie with vanilla ice cream and a lemon meringue tart with glazed Italian meringue and strawberry coulis.
Good to know: there’s a smashing cocktail list on offer and the tables spill outside to a charming rear courtyard garden.
