All Saints Anglican Church, 111 Queen Street Marburg

It is a baking competition but really, it’s about coming together as a community. Imagine bunting (lots of it!), High Altitude Harmony, Amberly Brass Band, live judging and tea and scones stall.

The event program will encourage entrants to drop off their baking at the hall, wander around Marburg, grab lunch at the pub, enjoy the charm of one of Ipswich’s hidden gems, watch the live judging and then congratulate the winners.

Best of all, visitors can purchase a box of testing cakes and vote for their favourite to determine the winner of People’s Choice.

Do you love to bake? They have four sections you can enter including chocolate cake, people’s choice and best decorated. There is even a children’s decorated milk arrowroot biscuit section. Entries are open until Monday 27 September.

The official opening is from 11am and the winners will be announced by 1pm.

The Great Marburg Bake Off is everything you love about the cooking section of your local show but with more bunting, prizes and frivolity.
