Springfield Skatepark, Bob Gibbs Park Springfield

Skate Titans Ipswich will be held on June 22 at Springfield Skatepark (Bob Gibbs park).

The contest is proudly sponsored by the City of Ipswich, Etnies, Surf Dive n Ski, Vow Skateboards and Skate connection.

The contest is sanctioned by the Australian Skateboarding federation, which means all local and travelling competitors will be awarded ranking points in the national system.

This is an opportunity for local Ipswich talent to progress their skateboarding and move up to a higher level of contest and represent their region.

Ipswich has been leading the way in grassroots development, with regular coaching programs covering all corners of the city and was one of the first cities in Australia to run a girls only program to encourage female participation in sport.

Winners of the contest will spend a week in Mackay with International pros as part of a festival and the Queensland championships.

For the young ones, Free Skateboarding lessons are available from 9am at Springfield Skatepark.

The event is free to watch.

They expect competitors from as far north as Noosa and as far south as Byron Bay to be attending.
