The Workshops Rail Museum, North Street North Ipswich

Looking for an adrenaline charged weekend? Planes, Trains and Autos, presented by RPQ Group, is for you. Join a celebration of all things aviation, rail and autos in the City of Ipswich, at the birthplace of rail in Queensland.

Explore aviation displays, as well as formation fly pasts and aerobatic displays, by Red Thunder, featuring historic warbirds.

History will come alive with hands-on exhibits, huge locomotives and industrial machinery on display and walking tours at Australia’s oldest railway workshops still in operation. You can also ride the first public diesel hauled mixed freight train in 30 years at Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway (simply take a heritage bus there on the day from The Workshops Rail Museum – costs apply).

See motorcycles through the ages, muscle cars, historic trucks and buses, emergency services vehicles, Air Force and Army machinery, drag cars and more! There will be appearances by motorsport superstars including Craig Lowndes, Troy Bayliss and Toby Price for live Q & A sessions or meet and greets.

Kids are also spoilt for choice with the Nippers Railway adventure playground, interactive displays and hands on activities including launching your own bottle rocket, flying paper planes through wind tunnels and more.

Why not make a weekend of it and head to the Queensland Auto Spectacular on Sunday at Willowbank Raceway for more adrenaline action.
