Escape from city-life to somewhere a little more off-grid to soak up some serenity while surrounded by nature.  Enjoy switching off your screens but make sure to bring a camera for magical moments at cocktail hour as the sun goes down.

Twigley Farm

Twigley Farm

Twigley Farm is a cosy and secluded glamping experience designed for couples in the rural town of Haigslea.  You can sip a glass of wine by the fire, soak in a heritage outhouse bath and watch the sunset over the paddocks.

Collect eggs from the chickens, wander through the orchard, visit the mini ponies and baby goats on this rural property only 45 minutes from Brisbane.

Tallavalley Farm B&B

Tallavalley Farm B&B

Tallavalley Farm B&B lets you bring your own dog or horse if you want an escape the whole family can enjoy!  You’ll stay in a restored farmhouse with adjoining horse paddock and surrounded by pretty gardens and walking tracks – all within a few minutes’ drive to local townships.  This quiet retreat allows you to experience the dream of country life and who knows, perhaps you’ll even be inspired to pursue a tree change of your own.

Spicers Hidden Vale

Spicers Hidden Vale is the ultimate in luxury stays in Ipswich.  Enjoy this retreat located on 12000 acres of bushland with sweeping country views. There’s also a restaurant on site, infinity pool and recreational park with hiking and biking trails.

Ivory’s Rock

Camp fire at Ivory's Rock

This gorgeous spot is surrounded by bushland and features powered and unpowered camping sites with private bathrooms, as well as cabins.  Ivory’s Rock ticks a lot of boxes with mountain views, Wi-Fi, and the chance to go wallaby and koala spotting.

Hardings Paddock Camping Ground

Camping at Hardings Paddock

For a more rustic experience book into Hardings Paddock right at the doorstep of the Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate.  Great for bird-watching, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding (BYO horse and bicycle).  You will need to bring your own shower bag and drinking water but there are camp loos and shower cubicles available.

More camping options…

The Rosewood Showgrounds Camping Facility is located 20 minutes from the Ipswich CBD and an hour from Brisbane in the RV friendly town of Rosewood.  The showgrounds have 16 powered sites with access to water and sullage and about 40 more unpowered sites.  It’s a great place to start exploring the Cobb & Co Tourist Drive and the nearby Grandchester Model Steam Railway.   You can also explore Ipswich and Brisbane using the nearby Queensland Rail Network.

Willowbank Caravan Park and Motel is only minutes away from the Willowbank Motorsport Precinct along the Cunningham Highway.  There are 18 spacious cabins, 22 renovated motel rooms and about 150 camping sites.  There’s also a pool.

The Ipswich Showgrounds has 25 camping spaces located in the middle of Ipswich.  The sites don’t accommodate tents, just caravans, camper-vans and camper-trailers.  The sites are all powered and pets are welcome.

Ipswich Caravan Village has six powered sites and up to 200 more unpowered spaces.
