9 Ipswich dishes for the meat fan!
Ipswich has some of the best food spots around, and unique dishes. In no particular order, here’s a list of some meat-laden meals not to miss. Apologies if you’re vegan!
9: Homage
Homage restaurant at Spicers Hidden Vale wins awards for a reason. For the meat-happy – the Chateaubriand for two of local eye fillet, with a table of garnishes, can’t be missed at the hatted restaurant.

8: Adam’s Continental Smallgoods
Mild csabai from Adam’s Continental Smallgoods at Carole Park goes down a treat at home. You can request for it to be sliced as you like and it’s made in store at Adam’s! You can get any of their meat items vacuum sealed too, so you can take it on your picnics!

7: Dusty’s
Dusty’s Bar and Barbeque in the Ipswich CBD has an epic Chilli Cheese Dog with chilli mince covering a hotdog, then smothered in cheese and mustard. You probably shouldn’t pass up the kilo of loaded fries for $18. Or you could tuck into one of their crazy burgers…

6: BLVD
BLVD under Springfield Lakes Hotel offers too much meat variety for the carnivorous so best to go for one of their BBQ platters and sample it all. You can get two or three different cuts of meat for your platter to accompany the peppered slaw and BBQ seasoned fries!

5: Pumpyard
Try the off the menu burger at Pumpyard Bar and Brewery. It’s made of EVERYTHING – a combo of menu items. It includes bacon, cheese, onion rings, a house-made beef patty, maple pork, slaw and more! They also have a variety of other burgers to keep you coming back!

4: Fourthchild
Fourthchild‘s roast duck comes off a treat, with sides of olive potato mash, roasted honey glazed baby carrots and balsamic glaze.

3: Bosshogg’s
Bosshogg’s at Carole Park does one mean steak! The tomahawk steak is 1Kg and comes with a surprise if you finish it in 45 minutes. Or you can savour your time eating it and the onion rings, coleslaw, fries and 3 dipping sauces.

2: Casa Mia
Casa Mia’s seafood pizza is handmade from scratch! It comes with king and baby prawns, calamari, scallops, reef fish and mozzarella. Seafood is one of their strong-suits, with plenty of good ocean grub on offer, including creamy prawns! Yum!

1: Heisenberg Haus
Heisenberg Haus at Top of Town has a pork knuckle challenge. You photo goes on the wall as a symbol of victory if you eat your whole meal but even if you don’t your tastebuds will not be at a loss. Don’t forget to sample the beer!
