Getting to Ipswich by car

Being located at the nexus of five major arterial roads allows for easy access to Ipswich by road.

From the East: The Ipswich Motorway links Ipswich to Brisbane.

From the West: The Warrego Higway (National Highway A2) links Ipswich to major regional centres including Toowoomba, Roma & Charleville.

From the North: The Brisbane Valley Highway (National Route 17) links Ipswich to major regional centres including Esk & Kingaroy.

From the South-West: The Cunningham Highway (National Highway 15) links Ipswich to major regional centres including Warwick & Stanthorpe, along with the New England Highway from New South Wales.

From the South-East: The Logan Motorway links Ipswich to the Gold Coast and Pacific Highway from New South Wales, along with the Gateway Motorway from Brisbane Airport & Sunshine Coast.

Getting to Ipswich by train or bus

By Train: The Brisbane Citytrain network provides regular connections from Brisbane to Ipswich and Springfield, with connections to the Gold & Sunshine Coast rail lines. For more information about train timetables and fares go to www.translink.com.au.

By Bus: Daily bus connections are available from the Brisbane Transit Centre in Brisbane. For more information contact the Greyhound Australia on (07) 3336 5591.

Bus Transfers: Available for door-to-door shuttle services to and from Brisbane Domestic and International airports as well as the Brisbane cruise terminal. Bookings are essential and must be made 2 full working days prior to the service being provided. Limousine and group coach transfers are also available.

Getting to Ipswich by air

Ipswich is easily accessible from 3 major airports: Brisbane, Gold Coast and Brisbane West Wellcamp (Toowoomba) Airports. As mentioned above, Ipswich is connected to the Brisbane and Gold Coast Airports via the Airtrain and Brisbane Citytrain networks. The Brisbane and Gold Coast Airports also offer easy access to car hire companies for the fly-drive option.

Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport. Wellcamp’s state of the art passenger terminal and jet capable run way is located only 80 minutes’ drive from Ipswich Central, with connection to just about anywhere in the world via the Qantas affiliate network.
