Entry Ticket
The Workshops Rail Museum is not what you would call your 'every day' museum. It isn't a quiet place - there is everything from huge steam locomotives to massive, one-tonne hammers that make stacks of sound. It's a Museum where you can: try your hand at driving a big, rumbling train on a simulator; relive the romance of rail with beautifully restored heritage locomotives and carriages; become a ‘Nipper' for the day and play in the bright, colourful and educational Nippers Railway; and step back in time and see sparks fly on a Behind the Scenes Tour of the Working Workshops. There are over 15 exhibition zones that each bring to life a different aspect of the rail in Queensland story. The Workshops Rail Museum is also home to a popular events program. Day out with Thomas, Wizards and Witches Express, Circus Train, Toyland Express, Queensland Model Railway Show, Bunny Eggventures, and Santa Celebration are just a taste of what is on offer throughout the year.

Directions: Follow the Ipswich Motorway from Brisbane. When you arrive in Ipswich, follow the brown tourist signs to the Museum. Alternatively, follow the Ipswich Motorway from Brisbane, onto the Warrego Highway. Then take the Mount Crosby exit and follow the brown tourist signs to the Museum.
